A pressure test can reveal small external leaks, while thermostat, fan and water-pump checks help diagnose temperature problems. Persistent coolant loss, contaminated oil or combustion gases in the cooling system require further diagnosis before the vehicle returns to service.
Fleet maintenance records
Track coolant additions, hose replacements, overheating events and recurring faults by VIN or chassis number. Repeated top-ups are a warning sign, not normal consumption. Trend data also helps procurement teams identify parts that are failing earlier than expected.

Radiators, thermostats, pumps, caps and hoses must match the engine and cooling-system specification. Verify OE references and vehicle data before ordering. For commercial vehicles, duty cycle and operating load should also be considered.
When a vehicle overheats
Move to a safe location, switch off the engine if the manufacturer’s instructions require it and allow the system to cool. Do not continue driving with a high-temperature warning, and do not remove the cap from a hot pressurised system. Arrange professional diagnosis before returning the vehicle to operation.
